An Accidental Goddess
by Linnea SinclairReview by Gayle Surrette Spectra Paperback ISBN/ITEM#: 0553587994 Date: 27 December, 2005 List Price $6.99 Amazon US / Amazon UK / Show Official Info / Then Admiral Mack Makarian, who is trying to get the station she's on up to launching a major gate project, and merging the military with the civilian authority, thinks it's a little too pat to find a lone survivor out there in the middle of nowhere. He thinks she might be a smuggler. She can't tell him who she is because he worships her in the guise of Lady Kiasidira. But she's very attracted to him and he to her. What's a girl to do? Well, her ship SIMON, a sentient guardian thinks she should tell Mack the truth. Gillie enjoys just being Gillie because even though she knows she's not a Goddess she doesn't want to destroy everyone's faith. It's rather funny to find out that a list of the sacred sayings of Lady Kiasidira was just a drunken joke. On a binge she and some friends put together a list of all the saying she used. Now she has to really watch what she says because she's already been reprimanded for her irreligious manner towards the Lady. And if this wasn't enough the Fav'lhir were not totally destroyed and they're using her Goddess worshippers to infiltrate the station and take over the government. Gillie is faced with some hard choices and to save the station she may have to lose everything else. A light but interesting space opera romance, with well drawn characters and fast action.
