Jennifer Fallon does an excellent job in keeping all the details straight as she moves multiple, entwining plots forward. Her characters are intriguing and interesting, head strong and likable. The pace of the book is fairly fast and the action intense as armies move about the landscape intent on domination and vengeance. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way and more than a few surprises to keep the reader's interest high.

This is a good read and an even better book as it tells an interesting story and also brings us from book one to book three. Fallon produces intrigue and excitement by handfuls as she sets about twisting all of her various plot threads together. Her world has interesting politics, people and histories that all have some bearing on the ultimate direction of the storyline. This is a strong addition to the fantasy field and a must read in my eyes.
