In a place where the only safe future for a man lies in marrying well, Jerin Whistler is entering adulthood. Jerin Whistler's older sisters will arrange his marriage, obtaining either a husband or a brother's price in exchange. This is set in an alternate Earth, where the human population is more than 90 percent female. Sisters inherit as a group from their mothers, and share a single husband. There have been a number of books set in worlds with odd sex ratios; this is one of the most believable. I have been waiting three years for this book, and am not disappointed in it.
