Preditors and Editors Reader's Poll Awards
Review by Steve Sawicki Preditors & Editors Event ISBN/ITEM#: 0501PAEA Date: Jan 12-31, 2005 / Show Official Info / Reader's Poll Page / Rules for the P&E Readers Awards Each year for the past seven years, Preditors and Editors, a guide to publishers and writing services for serious writers has sponsored the Preditors and Editors Readers Poll. The Readers Poll is a month long nominating and voting process where readers can both nominate and vote for their favorites in over 25 categories. The awards are part of Preditors and Editors efforts to promote writers and are viewed as an effort that "helps all publishers and writers on the Internet to thrive in what is still viewed as a highly experimental and strongly competitive environment." The rules for voting are fairly simple: Voting commences on January 1st and runs through January 31st. Anyone can vote. Anyone can nominate a new entry in any category simply by voting for the new entry. You can only vote once. Anything that fits one of this year's categories that was published on the Internet in the previous year by any electronic publisher with an open submissions policy is eligible for nomination. Readers Poll Awards winners are announced in February.
