There are those that define art as something that creates a feeling. It does not have to be a good emotion, in fact, a few limit art to only those creations that produce a negative response. Either way, it is the effect that is important, not the meaning of the words. Science fiction certainly has writers whose works fall into the emotional definition of art, and Paul Di Filippo's The Emperor of Gondwanaland, is a collection of stories that certainly will get a rise from many readers, but do not limit him to this narrow measure, as he shows us much broader horizons than just sensation.
