Running from the Deity is the latest in the long running Pip & Flinx series by Alan Dean Foster. Like its predecessor Sliding Scales, Running from the Deity is both a continuation of Foster's galactic disaster storyline as well as a diversion from it. While the larger issues continue, and are occasionally alluded to, the primary focus of the novel is on the totally unrelated events concerning our hero as he sets down on a forbidden planet so that his starship can repair itself.
