Interview: Simon Green
by Drew BittnerReview by Drew Bittner Ace Interview Date: August 1, 2005 / Show Article / From official release/information: Deathstalker. Hawk & Fisher. And now Nightside. If these names aren't familiar to you, then perhaps you haven't been spending enough time among the bestsellers. Simon R. Green has achieved what few other authors have: he's created bestselling series in science fiction, fantasy and dark urban fantasy, one after another. They run the gamut from epic to the intimate, with an emphasis on larger-than-life heroes fighting the most despicable of villains, often in the name of love. He's also found time to write one-off novels such as Shadows Fall and Drinking Midnight Wine, which are as fascinating as they are hard to categorize. Nevertheless, they fit into the greater universe Green has been creating since 1988. Because, you see, these diverse series are connected. It takes a bit of detective work but... the clues are all there. Which brings us to the Nightside series, featuring private eye and mystery man John Taylor. He's a detective in a place that you won't find on any map but is only one unlucky step away, where forgotten gods and unspeakable horrors are commonplace and you can find anything for a price. Simon R. Green took a moment to speak with SFRevu recently about his newest Nightside novel, Paths Not Taken, as well as life in general and writing in particular... (Source: Ace)
