Steve Sawicki, sf author, damnaliens confidant and occasional race car driver, has been after me for a while to book us a shuttle launch to watch. Not willing to wait for the next return to flight, he went down to the Space Academy (the adult arm of Space Camp) for a three day mission to boldly explore the life of a shuttle astronaut and the chance to dead-stick Atlantis back to Canaveral.
