Elena Baxter is a healer. She's been a healer all her life. It was her efforts to heal a wounded animal when she was a child that caused her mother to try to kill her. Her grandfather rescued her and then raised her. She now works as a clerk at a hospital and heals children when she can sneak in to visit. It was while healing a child that she was darted and kidnapped.

Artur Loginov works for an international detective agency, Dirk & Steele. They'd found him and offered a job; a chance to do good with his gift. Artur can feel the people who were in a room before him and see the criminal and victim from touching a scene. He's tracking a serial killer when he is darted and kidnapped. He wakes to find himself a pawn in a game to take over all those with paranormal gifts and faced with a doctor who is willing to do anything to find out how these gifts work.
