From official release/information:

The anthology Elemental is being published to assist the victims of the 2004 tsunami in Indian Ocean, but don't expect a lot of stories about giant waves or cataclysmic events. While the proceeds of this book will go to the Save the Children's Tsunami Relief fund, the stories are a collection written to show the "various elements of speculative fiction" and Elemental does this very well. The contributions of twenty-three authors give us stories that range from light humor to dark dreams, hard science fiction to heroic fantasy, with samples of slipstream, magical realism and military fiction, along with a few hard-to-classify pieces. This makes Elemental not just a work of generosity but also of outstanding literary complexity and talent.
