Anita Blake is back in Micah, a short novel that focuses on her relationship with her wereleopard soul-mate.

When complications arise in his wife's pregnancy, zombie animator Larry Kirkland begs Anita to take over for him on assignment in Philadelphia. She agrees and sets off with Micah for their first-ever trip alone together. It's a bit of a landmark for both, since they'll be without master vampire Jean-Claude, werewolf Alpha Richard Zeeman or even their housemate Nathaniel. Naturally enough, Anita fears that time alone might conjure new problems for their relationship.
