Although The Oracle's Queen is the third book in the Tamir trilogy, nothing tells you so on the book's covers. Therefore, if you pick this one up thinking it is a stand-alone dark fantasy, you are left struggling to fill in the backstory and understand the characters. It is a coming of age fantasy tale set in a medieval world of sword fighting and wizards with their limited magic.
