Flying to Scotland in a U.S. Navy F-18, Alex MacNeil and Lindsay Pawlowski hit an unexplained fiery tunnel in the air. With the plane disabled, they eject and land to discover they have arrived in 14th century Scotland. Fortunately, Lindsay completed an English university education and majored in literature. A course in Middle English enables her to communicate with the people they encounter.
