The universe is a lonely place. After years of exploration and billions of dollars the Academy hasn't found another species that is comparable to humans. There are species that are complex and developing, but none that are at the human's level. They have found the remnants of intelligent space going cultures, just none that have survived. There has been a recent increase in "moonrider" sightings. Could this finally be an equal or superior species? With the Academies budget shrinking, a mission is sent to find out and to hopefully stir up waning support.
