Joseph Bruchac is the author of Skeleton Man, The Return of Skeleton Man, Whisper in the Dark, The Dark Pond and many, many, other critically acclaimed novels, poems, and stories for adults, children and all ages between. Many of these stories draw on his Abenaki heritage and other cultures. The legend of Skeleton Man is inspired by a traditional Abenaki story.
