Serena, who works violet security for Uncle Simon McCord, shows up to help protect Natalie. But that also means protecting Natalie's family. Soon various plot threads come together and we find that art thefts, the return of priceless art, and the release of Evan Markham are all part of the same grand design. That this plan doesn't currently work, and can't without someone channeling the scientist who worked on it -- doesn't slow down the madman behind it all. Natalie finds herself trying to help an artist deal with his violet nature and get to the bottom of this new threat to herself and her family by the NAACC. This book takes off and keeps you turning the pages to the end. This time Natalie is more of the take-charge-of-her-life person I expect of someone standing up to a big corporation that's trying to take her over. She actually plans ahead and acts accordingly. The only drawback is that she still doesn't treat her daughter as a sentient being, but then that's a problem most parents have with their children. This series just keeps getting better. Recommended.
