Special Photo Section: OFFICIAL LACONIV MASQUE by Charles Mohapel
Date: Dec 1, 2006 / Show Official Info /

Charles Says: I had the privilege of heading up the 12-person team working as Official Photographers for LAcon IV, the 64 th World Science Fiction Convention held in Anaheim, CA from August 23rd to 27th, 2006.

Our Mission was to create a Digital version patterned upon the "A Day In The Life Of..." coffee table books, but taking the process to the next level and beginning 2 days before the convention opened and covering it to the last day.

In addition, I worked as the Official Masquerade Photographer on Friday August 25th, an extremely Time Critical task complicated by the fact that not all the entries could be photographed before they went on stage for their presentations. Fortunately, I have the hard-earned experience posing my subjects and my Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D was up to the job of shooting 553 shots in 4 hours, an average of 2.3 frames per minute.

My sincere thanks to Ernest Lilley of SFRevu for participating and hosting my Official Masquerade Photos on the SFRevu website.
